Holiday light maintenance in Long Grove, IL, included through January

Twinkle Bros Lighting LLC covers holiday light maintenance and repair in Long Grove, IL on every display we install — if a bulb fails, a strand loosens, a circuit trips, or a storm disrupts the display at any point between installation and January takedown, we come back and fix it at no charge. No service-call fee, no argument about cause, no expiry date in mid-December.

Any honest company will tell you a display running seventy-odd consecutive nights through a Lake County winter will occasionally have a bad night. What separates a professional installation is that the bad night is our problem.

Why wooded lots fail differently

Long Grove is heavily treed and lightly gridded — large lots, long drives, mature canopy over and around most properties. That produces failure modes an open subdivision simply doesn't have.

Falling limbs. An ice-loaded branch coming down across a wrapped tree or a roofline run is the single most common storm failure on a wooded property. It rarely takes out a whole display; it takes out one section, visibly.

Deeper, longer-lasting snow load. Shade holds snow. A section under dense canopy stays loaded days after an open roofline has shed, and sustained weight is what pulls clips and stresses attachment points.

Longer runs, more connections. A property with a lit drive approach and wrapped specimens has substantially more cordage and more junctions than a roofline-only house. Every junction is a potential water entry point.

Squirrels. More trees, more squirrels, more chewed cordage. It is a genuine cause of mid-season outages here and nowhere near as rare as people assume.

What actually fails, in order

Water and freeze-thaw at connections. The leading cause everywhere. Moisture enters a socket or connector, freezes overnight, expands, and the connection is compromised. Commercial-grade LED with sealed sockets resists it well, but sixty-plus cycles is a real test.

Attachment working loose under wind and ice. A correctly seated clip is remarkably stable; an undersized or poorly seated one works free over weeks of gusts.

Circuit and GFCI trips. Usually load or moisture rather than a light failure — and on a large distributed display this is the failure that takes out whole sections at once. It is also the hardest for a homeowner to diagnose in the dark.

Bulb failure. Genuine LED failures are relatively uncommon and usually isolated, but one dark bulb in a prominent run is visible and worth fixing.

Why you shouldn't chase this yourself

On a Long Grove property the failure is frequently in the least accessible place — high on a multi-gable roofline, or deep in a wrapped canopy over soft, uneven, snow-covered ground. Add a January ladder, frozen footing, and 4:40 sunset, and a mid-season repair becomes the most dangerous thing anyone does to their house all year.

Our crews are insured — general liability and workers' compensation — so a repair on your property is our exposure, not yours.

What the coverage includes

  • Bulb replacement from commercial-grade stock we keep on hand, so there's no color-temperature mismatch
  • Re-securing loose runs and sections after wind or ice events
  • Connection and circuit diagnosis, including trips that take out whole sections
  • Storm-related repairs for the full season
  • A full re-test after any visit, not just the part we touched

All of it at no charge, on displays we installed, through January takedown.

What happens when you call

Call (708) 316-4569 and describe what you're seeing — a dark section, a dead run, a strand hanging loose. Most issues are diagnosable from that plus the install record, which means we arrive with the right parts rather than making two trips. Because we designed and installed the display, we already know which run is on which circuit and which clip type is on your gutters.

We schedule repairs promptly, weather permitting — and that caveat is honest rather than evasive. We won't put a crew on a steep roof or under an ice-loaded canopy during an active storm. When conditions are workable, we come out.

Why this is included rather than sold

Maintenance isn't a plan you buy from us. It's included on every display we install, and that's deliberate: a company confident in its materials and its attachment doesn't need to make money on its own failures.

It works because we control the whole chain — custom holiday lighting design, professional installation with our own commercial-grade LED, then takedown and storage at our facility. We're maintaining our own inventory on a plan we drew, which is why diagnosis is fast.

For a display another company installed, we'll look at it from photos you send — but we can't guarantee materials and attachment that aren't ours, and mismatched replacement bulbs usually differ enough in color temperature to be visible from the road.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if part of my display goes dark in December?

Call (708) 316-4569 and describe what you're seeing. We diagnose from that plus your install record, arrive with the right parts, and repair it at no charge — in-season maintenance is included on every display we install in Long Grove.

Is there a service-call fee?

No. There is no service-call fee and no per-visit charge on displays we installed, for the entire season through January takedown — covering bulb failures, loose runs after wind or ice, and circuit issues.

Does coverage end at Christmas?

No. It runs from installation through January takedown, which matters on Long Grove's wooded lots where ice-loaded limbs and sustained snow load cause failures well after the holidays.

Can you repair a display another company installed?

We can assess it from photos you send, but we can't guarantee materials and attachment methods that aren't ours, and replacement bulbs from different stock often differ in color temperature enough to show. We'll be straight about whether a repair or a fresh install makes more sense.
